Yu Kosuge

Now that I finished the recording and cycle of all Beethoven Sonatas, I realized this wasn’t a goal but a new beginning. Every time I play his piece, there is a new discovery, and makes me hungry to learn more about him. So I would like to continue this journey with you and play not only all his solo works, but also chamber music and songs, heading towards Beethoven’s 250^th anniversary in 2020. I call this project Beethoven MO-DE.

MO-DE is a Japanese word which describes a “shrine visit” but also means to “pay respect”. In this project I would like to “visit” every piece I play with great respect to Beethoven.
